Ford Shrinks Its EV Rollout Plans as Demand Lags

Ford Motor is canceling plans for a large electric sport-utility vehicle and will incur $1.9 billion in charges. The automaker cites softer-than-expected demand and tough pricing pressure as reasons for scrapping the electric three-row SUV. Ford had previously delayed the release of the SUV until 2027. Automakers are adjusting their EV plans and resorting to aggressive discounts to boost sales.
